Adoption Process:

Visit us during our tour hours to walk through our shelter to view the animals.

For safety and insurance purposes you must be 12 years old or older to walk through the dog kennel area. No exceptions. You may not stick hands, fingers or any other body parts into the kennels. Anyone not following this policy will be asked to leave.

Our tour days/hours are Fridays, 3-5pm and Saturdays, 11am-2pm. All other days we are very busy caring for our furry friends.

If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog, submit an application through our website. We do not do “same day” adoptions.

Applications are reviewed by a volunteer committee as they have time to discuss them. If your application looks like a good fit for one of our animals you will be contacted to come to the shelter to meet with the dog or cat.

If you have not been contacted about your application it means either 1-your application has not yet been reviewed, or 2-your application has been denied for that particular animal, or 3-another applicant was selected to meet with the animal for adoption. Adoptions are only finalized once you have come to meet the animal and we are satisfied with the match.

We receive multiple applications for each animal. Applicants are selected to meet with animals based upon “best fit” for each animal in regards to each animal’s behaviors and needs. This is at the sole discretion of the committee. We reserve the right to deny any application.
